University of Hull scientists striving to help cancer patients live-longer have won Research Team of the Year in the Educate North Awards.
Dr Justin Sturge, a senior lecturer in biomedical science at the University, led an international team of scientists to two major breakthroughs. They made a series of discoveries, which will help identify the most dangerous forms of prostate cancer and lead to personalised treatment programs for men who have prostate cancer. They have also found a way to stop some types of cancer spreading to human bone.
